Cookies at a Glance
Cookie notices are often long because the sites behind them track a great deal. Ours stays brief because there is almost nothing to declare. Rhapsody for a Unicorn does not use cookies to follow you, measure you or show you advertising.
The one thing we store
When the cookie notice appears, you can accept or decline. Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage, a small storage area that each website gets on your own device. It is technically not a cookie, but it serves a similar purpose: it lets the site remember that you have already answered, so the notice stays out of your way while you read.
That stored answer:
- contains only a single value meaning "accepted" or "declined";
- lives only on your own device and travels nowhere, not even to us;
- is not used to identify you or to build a profile;
- remains until you clear it.
What we do not use
| Type | Used here? |
|---|---|
| Analytics or statistics cookies | No |
| Advertising or retargeting cookies | No |
| Social media tracking | No |
| Login or account cookies | No, there are no accounts |
| Stored cookie choice (local storage) | Yes, on your device only |
Declining changes nothing you can see
Because the site has no optional trackers to switch on, the magazine works exactly the same whichever button you press. A “no” is noted, and that is all that happens. You will not see a reduced version of any article, and no feature is held back as a reward for accepting.
Clearing your answer
- Go to the privacy or storage area of your browser’s preferences.
- Look up rhapsodyforaunicorn.com in the list of sites holding data.
- Delete its stored data. The notice will appear again on your next visit.
Using a private or incognito window has the same effect: the choice is forgotten when the window closes.
Other websites
A few articles carry links to outside sites. If you follow those links, the other site may use its own cookies, which are covered by its own policy rather than this one.
